A recent graduate wondering what to do next.

I Graduated. Now What?

May 24, 20252 min read

Graduation should feel like a finish line. Instead, for many, it feels like a blank page with no instructions. You’ve crossed the stage, shaken the hands, maybe even thrown the cap. But now what?

In a world where everyone is telling you to figure it out fast, to choose your career wisely, to build something impressive, what you really need is something simpler. You need a way to get started that builds momentum, confidence, and clarity.

Here are three steps that can help you do just that:

  1. Journal – Spend a few minutes reflecting on your values, what excites you, and what kind of impact you want to make. These don’t have to be polished answers. Just start noticing what matters to you.

  2. Act – Take one small step. Reach out to someone. Try something new. Apply for a job even if you’re not fully qualified. Do anything that aligns with what you care about. You don’t need the full plan. Just move forward.

  3. Celebrate – This is key. Capture what you tried, what you learned, and what you felt. Even the smallest win, like writing a rough resume draft or making that one awkward phone call, is worth celebrating. That is where your wisdom builds.

These are simple steps, but they are not always easy to maintain. Especially after years of having the structure of school. And it's not just you. Most adults I know, including myself, struggle with sticking to positive routines.

That is exactly why I built the JC App.

The JC App gives you structure and support without overwhelming you. It guides you through these three steps each day so you can keep growing, even when life feels uncertain or unstructured.

If you follow this process a few times a week, you will begin to notice progress. You will learn what works and what doesn’t. You’ll stumble, but more importantly, you’ll recover and keep going.

One of my clients used this process not to land a job, but to find the courage to say in an interview, “I don’t know if I’m grounded, but my core values are family, growth, and authenticity. They help me stay grounded.” He got the job.

So if you’re staring at the uncertainty of post-grad life wondering what’s next, here’s your answer. You don’t need the full map. You just need a compass, your values, and a system for taking action.

The world does not need you to be perfect. It needs you to be in motion.

You can test the JC App today at action.joeychandler.net. And if you want extra support, I’m starting a 6-week challenge to help people grow in an important area of life and, more importantly, learn a system for future growth. You can find the details at www.joeychandler.net/jcm.

And if someone hasn’t told you already, you are more powerful and wiser than you realize. You just need a system for putting that into action.
