And most are negative or repetitive, hindering our efforts.
Even worse, they have multiple sources (childhood traumas, generational patterns, how our brains are wired, and social norms), so you don't know where they come from.
Trying to ignore or fight them is a losing battle. There are just too many. Get past 1, 2, or 10, and more will appear.
Fortunately, I found a better way.
In the past 50 days, I've applied this process with clients, witnessing remarkable boosts in confidence:
Increasing prices and generating sales
Clarifying the value offered to clients
Focusing more on priorities and less on distractions
Building healthier habits
Establishing robust internal support systems
Transitioning from pondering to action in business development
Asserting desires and boundaries in personal relationships
Strengthening connections with family and friends
Cultivating peace of mind amidst uncertainty
All achieved by clarifying how they operate and integrating it into their daily lives.
The question is - where would more confidence help you? Because I want to help you with that.
How the PDM works: Start with any negative thought you have.
Celebrate something you did yesterday related to that belief. It can be big or small.
Declare your goal(s).
Explore what is and isn't working regarding your goals.
Create a list of possible actions by asking what your core values say to do regarding your goals.
Do at least one action today.
Repeat the process tomorrow by celebrating the actions you took today. Continue until you achieve your goal.
With each step, you make positive gains, learn something new about achieving your goals, and break the grip of your negative thoughts.
Failure is a greater teacher than success. Listen, learn, and go on.
- Oprah Winfrey
You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it.
- Johnny Cash
The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won’t. It’s whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it.

Emotional Impact: Failure can trigger disappointment, frustration, and even shame. These emotions can make it hard to look objectively at what went wrong.
Fear of Repeating Mistakes: We worry that revisiting failures will lead to repeating them. This fear can prevent us from digging deeper into the lessons they hold.
Focus on the Outcome, Not the Process: We often equate success with results, so when things don’t work out, we see it as a dead end rather than a step in the learning process.
Self-Criticism: Many of us are harder on ourselves than on anyone else. This tendency to self-criticize makes it difficult to see failures as growth opportunities rather than personal shortcomings.
Lack of a Structured Process: Without a clear framework to analyze and learn from failure, it’s easy to feel lost or overwhelmed.
Understanding these challenges is the first step to moving past them. With the right mindset and a supportive approach, learning from failures can become a powerful way to keep growing toward success and your dreams.
As James Clear says,
“We don’t succeed to the level of our dreams, we fall to the level of our systems.”
The Powder Day Mindset is a simple system: five questions that help you turn doubts into progress.
And here’s the best part:
You already have everything you need.
You don’t need more information, a fancy new system, or extra complexity. You simply need practice.
You could start using these questions on your own today:
What can I celebrate?
What are my goals?
What isn’t working?
What do my values tell me to do?
What action can I take?
Joey is a relatable person without pretense. This fits my needs perfectly. About 6 weeks into the coaching and I have gone from the sense of complete overwhelm to excitement. This is no joke. I find the process logical and it fits into my already busy schedule. If you are willing to put in the work you will get great results.

Why? Because we have an unlimited supply of negative thoughts.
Evolutionary Survival Mechanisms
Early Childhood Experiences
Judgmental Modern Society
Generational Trauma
These are all sources of negative thoughts, and there are probably more.
Rather than trying to fight or overcome them, use them as fuel to create positive growth.
It makes life easier and more productive.

About six months ago, I hit a wall and stopped doing my morning routine after doing it for years. I knew my routine helped me, but I didn’t have the energy to get it back going. But after answering your celebration questions for the past few days, I felt my energy return, and I feel like I’m back. It only took a few minutes each day and made a huge difference.

About me
Rather than focusing on tips and techniques, we focus on bringing your core self to your life.
We clarify who you are and what you want to accomplish.
We determine any doubts hindering your efforts, you learn to let them go, and then you take action.
We evaluate, celebrate, and revise your efforts so you keep moving forward and connected to your core self.
You repeat the process until your goal is achieved. You benefit from that success and knowing how to achieve it without being fake or burning out. The process works because of the power of your core self. Keep tapping into that and you will succeed.
